Using Aweber to Boost Your Conversions
By Neil Morrical
If you have never used an autoresponder or have only heard a little about them, simply put, they automatically respond to your possible customers and email them back for you. Once you place the autoresponder’s lead capture form on your site, prospects can join your mailing list to receive your newsletter, promotions, ect.
Aweber is the leading autoresponder service available today. Offering unlimited autoresponders with your account, it is the most cost effective way to go. Additionally, Aweber offers you a Free Demonstration of their service and a 30 day risk free trial. I’ve been using Aweber’s services for over two years now and I have no complaints. If you ever do have any issues though, Aweber has toll-free customer service with over 9 years of experience, plus an excellent support staff.
So why do you need an autoresponder? Well, time is money… And your time should be well spent in developing your site’s pages and content instead of attempting to track all of your possible prospects manually. Most importantly, you must be able to capture leads from your sales pages and product review pages in order to make more sales.
The average person will not make a purchase the first time they land on a sales page. This is why you must capture their contact information for future contact. Once you have captured the prospect’s contact information (Which is done automatically by your autoresponder’s lead capture form), your autoresponder can send out any series of emails you have created at any time interval you choose.
For instance, let’s say that you offer an educational course or a sample of your ebook in order to promote your product. Well, you can split the course up into pieces and set the time to be delivered on each, such as 1 day after opting into your mailings list… Set the next part of the course to mail 2 days later, three days later, and so on. This will allow you to reach many prospects at the same time and promote future sales.
On the average, it will take you about 7 contacts to a prospect before they will make a purchase. I’m not talking about your roughly 3 percent that convert immediately. (If your doing it right.) I’m talking about the other 97 percent out there that landed on your sales page. By having a good autoresponder series set up that has some value to it, you will get your prospects to opt-in to your list. This will give you the chance to offer them good high quality content in order to build up trust and your relationship with the customer. Sometimes all it takes is a good sample of a product and they’re hooked.
Another important detail to remember is to include an catching footer in your emails to be sent out by your autoresponder. People scan today instead of reading every word initially. People get so much email today that they have set up their bullshit filter pretty thick. They scan through the content quickly, reading only bits and pieces and then they get to the end. Your subject line must make reference to your free sample, course, ect., but your footer absolutely must include a good eye catching link. Kind of like what you would use as an ad on Adwords or some other text ad. This will increase the likelihood of pulling your prospects back to your sales page for another look and a possible sale.
