Why is Internet and Affiliate Marketing so Challenging?
October 31st, 2007This is an honest question and I’m sure you have asked yourself the same thing many times. So why is it so difficult to succeed in your own online ventures? Obviously, people have made it in this business and many are making what the average working class citizen makes annually in less than a month.
So what’s the deal?
The truth of the matter is that there are many different business models, which are highly successful and it seems like every marketer wants to let others know how he made it. Well, that’s good and all, but you cannot attempt to use everyone’s business model and be successful. What happens when you attempt this is after you have acquired all of the information you can about these models, you crash. You suffer from what internet marketers have dubbed as “Information Overload.”
Typically, a rookie affiliate marketer will start off looking for ways to make money online. He (or she) has built a few websites and believes that it can be done. So the rookie finds an ebook that shows how to make money online by promoting affiliate programs using free techniques. It sounds great and it appeals to a new internet marketer’s budget. Well, the new marketer purchases the ebook, reads it thoroughly, and begins to put some of the techniques into practice. Suddenly, an email from a well-known internet marketing guru arrives and he is offering an outstanding deal on his Warrior Forum secrets. The rookie makes the purchase and now there are two projects to focus on instead of just one main project, which is more than enough.
This is how the Information Overload Virus attacks. Stick to just one major project at a time. Additionally, don’t forget to put your own spin on some of the business models out there. Use some of your own creativity and make it your own. This is why successful marketers stay focused. When you have a great idea that is your own, you definitely want to give birth to it. I’m not saying to re-invent the wheel, but do take the time to modify and customize the ideas that come to you.
